Arbor Solution Adds Fully Rugged Gladius G1052C Tablet to Its Growing Lineup for Mobile Applications
Upgrade of Model G1050 Offers Rich I/O and Connectivity As Well As Extensive Data Collection Capabilities; Perfect for POS and mPOS Environments and Other Highly Portable Uses
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Arbor Solution has added to its expanding lineup of tablets for the rapidly growing mobile market with the introduction of its Gladius G1052C 10.4" fully rugged tablet. Powered by an Intel® Celeron® N2930 quad-core processor, which is in the Intel Bay Trail line up, the G1052C is an upgrade of model G1050, offering both performance and specification improvements. This latest version provides improved CPU performance, outstanding graphic processing, and ultra-low power consumption.
"With a variety of data collection and identification technology modules made available and perfected on the previous vintage platform, our new G1052C tablet is perfect for many mobile and portable applications, especially POS and mPOS," remarked Brian Yurkiw, Arbor Solution vice president. "Other features making it particularly beneficial to this market are an integrated 1D/2D barcode scanner, an ISO 15693/14443A/14443B RFID/NFC reader, magnetic stripe reader (MSR), and a rear facing 5-megapixel auto-focus camera. The G1052C's multiple wireless communications, which include WiFi, Bluetooth™, WLAN, WWAN and GPS, facilitate real-time data transfer and processing, critical factors in POS and mPOS usages. In addition, we offer a desk dock for the G1052C that is focused specifically on POS applications."
Built Fully Rugged
Mobile applications often times can be punishing on a sophisticated piece of equipment. The fully rugged Gladius G1052C meets MIL-STD-810G military standards, offers IP54 ingress protection, and has an impressive four-foot drop resistance. Solid-rubber bumpers provide maximum impact protection for any use, whether in a sales kiosk, at a swap meet, during a trade show, or in a warehouse. Thanks to its hot-swappable external battery pack and long 8-hour battery life, the G1052C is in for the long haul, supporting a user so they never miss a sale or data entry. The unit may be operated in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 113°F, meaning it can be used outdoors in the middle of winter or during the sultry dog days of summer, and everything in between.
Ease of Use
Aiding its off-site/mobile capabilities is its sturdy, fanless, lightweight design, as well as a 23-key physical keypad, that includes four programmable function buttons for rapid manual data entry. A 10.4'' AFFS+ TFT active matrix display – with 1024 x 768 XGA resolution – offers a better visual experience. Model G1052CS is a sunlight-viewable version, for optimum outdoor usage. A 10-point projected capacitive touchscreen with exceptionally thin Corning® Gorilla Glass enables more sensitivity and more accurate touch response.
For POS applications there is a specific POS cradle with three USB 2.0 ports; two RS-232 ports; one each: Ethernet 10/100/1000 RJ-45 without WOL, DC-in Jack, RJ11 (cash drawer, 24V / 12V by switch), VGA port, and an optional SmartCard reader. It is also compatible with RAM mounts, delivering multi-angle adjustments.
Other POS-Type Uses
Other POS-type situations where the Arbor Solution Gladius G1052C tablet makes an ideal handheld device for gathering information are membership management in signing up new members and customer-relationship management, and the gaming industry for dealer ID management, data collection, and cash-flow management.
