ArbiterSports Participates in Junior Achievement of Utah's Volunteer Event JA-in-a-Day
Management Team Teaches JA programs to Title 1 School in Salt Lake City, Utah
SANDY, Utah, July 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ArbiterSports, the established leader in athletic event management solutions and decades-long business leader in Salt Lake City, took part in a volunteer opportunity with Junior Achievement of Utah; a chapter of Junior Achievement USA, the world's largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. The organization's unique approach allows volunteers from the community to deliver their curriculum while sharing their experiences with students.
ArbiterSports' management team spent a day at Edison Elementary, a Title 1 school in in Salt Lake City, teaching courses in Finance, City Government, Economics, Budgeting and Entrepreneurship to 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade students. Nate Evans, a sales manager at ArbiterSports, had been involved with the organization a year prior and was so impressed by the experience that he encouraged the company to get involved.
"When we learned about this wonderful opportunity available in our own community we were anxious to become involved," said ArbiterSports CEO Jeff Triplette. "We benefited greatly from spending time with kids that don't have the same opportunities as kids at other schools and hope that they benefited from our experience and insight. We thank Nate Evans for facilitating our involvement and JA for providing a wonderful experience."
Since its founding over 30 years ago, ArbiterSports has had a vested interest in improving the lives of youth, not only as the provider of athletic management software for thousands of schools and youth leagues across the U.S., but also as a donor and volunteer in many causes that affect children.
"We are so grateful to ArbiterSports for coming out in full force to support our JA-in-a-Day event at Edison Elementary, bringing seven fabulous volunteers to teach JA programs in the classrooms at this Title I school. In reviewing the pictures, videos, and heartfelt thank you notes from the students, it was obvious that Team Arbiter had a great influence on these students," said Junior Achievement of Utah VP of Development and Communications Becky Harding. "We recognize that our volunteers are the heart and soul of JA as they inspire and empower students, and we know that their time with these kids will have long-lasting positive effects."
