SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Technologically advanced haircare company, AQUIS and the world's largest global tech entrepreneurship program for girls, Technovation, have officially partnered to help give young women the skills they need to become the tech and entrepreneurial leaders of the future. This Black Friday through Giving Tuesday, AQUIS is donating 100% of their sales to support Technovation's efforts, offering accessible coding experience and entrepreneurship training, scaffolded by peer and mentor support to reduce the gender gap in computer science degrees.
The sales from this initiative will directly support Technovation's San Francisco Regional Pitch Event, where girls from across the Bay Area will showcase the mobile apps they've designed with the help of their mentors to the community and a panel of judges for a chance to advance to the World Pitch event. The World Pitch Event is a weeklong series of events, including workshops, field trips to tech companies and the Pitch Night and Awards Ceremony, where the Technovation community comes together to celebrate the girls' successes. The 2018 World Pitch & Awards provide a global stage to showcase the impact this program has on supporting the inclusion of girls in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
"Technovation is very excited to partner with AQUIS in supporting and inspiring young girls to emerge as technology leaders," says Madhavi Bhasin, Senior Director at Technovation. "With AQUIS' support, we will empower girls to use technology to solve problems in their communities with confidence and mastery."
"We are thrilled to partner with Technovation this holiday season and beyond," adds Suveen Sahib, Co-CEO of AQUIS. "We are inspired by their mission to encourage women to be at the forefront of the tech and entrepreneurial space, following the footsteps of our own co-CEO, Britta Cox."
ABOUT AQUIS
AQUIS is an innovative hair care company that blends the best of science and technology to bring out the natural beauty of hair, offering beauty tools specifically engineered to correctly and effectively treat wet hair without damage. First to market, AQUIS' Hair Towels and Turbans utilize an exclusive performance-drying weave-technology, AQUITEX, made from ultra-fine fibers that are split into strands thinner than silk. These fibers are uniquely woven to create channels that quickly wick water away from hair without snagging cuticles or causing friction. The absorbed water is efficiently distributed across the towel, while continuing to dry hair at the point of contact. This helps minimize the swelling and stretching of hair, protecting its integrity. The result is stronger, healthier hair. AQUIS is committed to creating a simpler approach to hair care: uncomplicated products that protect the integrity of hair. AQUIS is available in a full variety of hair care towels and turbans, ensuring that everyone can achieve healthy, strong, shiny hair when treating it kindly.
