Aqua's Image Security Scanner Now an Integrated Add-On to Azure Container Registry
Scans Container Images for Known Vulnerabilities, Configuration Issues and Sensitive Data; Available on The Azure Marketplace
TEL AVIV, Israel, Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Aqua Security, the market-leading container security platform provider, today announced that the image assurance functionality of The Aqua Container Security platform is now available to Azure customers as an option they can choose within the Azure Container Registry (ACR).
Aqua's advanced image assurance enables customers to easily scan their container images for known vulnerabilities, security configuration issues, and sensitive data such as embedded private keys and passwords. The solution uses a continuously updated intelligence stream that combines multiple sources, including public, commercial and proprietary data, to discover up-to-date security issues in container images, and suggest actionable remediation to fix the vulnerable images.
With the new integration into Azure Container Registry, Azure customers can choose the Aqua solution within their ACR instance, enabling automated scanning of all images in their registry.
"We strive to make the Azure Container Service as secure as possible, and empower our customers to use best practices and advanced 3rd party solutions with zero friction," says Steve Lasker, Principal Program Manager at Microsoft. "We're thrilled to partner with Aqua to make this possible for image security in ACR," he added.
"By making security a convenient feature of ACR, we are enabling more customers to create and deliver secure applications with minimal friction," notes Ran Nahmias, Senior Director of Cloud and Strategic Initiatives at Aqua. "Azure's approach of providing an open architecture that brings best-of-breed solutions to customers is an effective approach in this dynamic market."
The Aqua Container Security Platform delivers an advanced security solution for containerized environments, supporting both Linux and Windows containers, multiple orchestration environments, both on-premises deployments as well as on Azure, AWS, GCP, and other public clouds. Integrating early into container development, Aqua then uses a combination of intelligent defaults, machine learning, and threat research to provide full life cycle security for container-based applications.
The Aqua security scanner is available as an add-on option within the Azure Container Registry. Customers need to activate their license for the Aqua Container Security Platform on the Azure Marketplace.
