Aqua Security Launches The Industry's First Container Technology Wiki
The New Vendor-Neutral Wiki Will Serve as a Community Resource for Container Technology, Architecture, Security and Orchestration
BURLINGTON, Mass., Dec. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Aqua Security today announced the launch of the industry's first Container Wiki: the largest organized compilation of publicly available content about container technology to date. The site will cover more than 200 container-related topics linking to thousands of articles, blogs and videos, and will serve as the community hub for expert opinions, use cases and tutorials talking about container technology.
"As the developer of the leading container security platform and a heavy user of container technology ourselves, we know how fast the industry is evolving and how time-consuming it can be to track down needed information across an exponentially growing set of sources," said Dror Davidoff, Co-founder and CEO, Aqua Security. "That's what drove us to create the wiki, which we hope will be regarded as a great online resource for adopters of container technology everywhere."
McKinsey & Company recently named container technology and DevOps as two of the top Ten trends redefining enterprise IT infrastructure. The move to containers is driven by developers and especially by DevOps teams that value speed and agility. That pace defines the rapidly expanding container industry, underscoring the value that a comprehensive, vendor-neutral knowledge base can provide industry-wide.
"The vast amount of resources available on the web for those interested in using containers is a testament to the enthusiasm of the container tech community," said Ben Hall, creator of Katacoda.com, an interactive technical learning platform for software engineers. "Making these resources easier to find with this wiki is a great idea, and will help introduce even more new adopters to container technology."
The Container Wiki features sections about Container Basics, Operations, Platforms, and Security, with a special focus on Docker and Kubernetes technologies that are becoming ubiquitous in modern container setups. The wiki is still in its infancy with roughly 100 topics, but a dedicated team of editors is working on building out the full scope of categories. It will also include dedicated sections for events, conferences, standards, organizations, and other happenings in the global container technology community.
The Container Wiki is currently maintained by the Aqua team, but visitors are encouraged to suggest new topics, links and content, as well as point out errors or out-of-date materials through forms available on every page of the Wiki.
