Aqua Security and PureSec Partner to Secure Container and Serverless Applications
Integrated Solution Provides Unified Security Controls for Cloud-Native Apps Across Development and Runtime Environments
TEL AVIV, Israel, Oct. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Aqua Security, the leading platform provider for securing container-based applications, and PureSec, the leading security platform for serverless architectures, today announced a partnership to secure applications based on containers and serverless functions in both development and runtime.
Container adoption has been rising rapidly, with more than 12 Billion pulls from DockerHub recorded, and more than 14 Million hosts running Docker containers.
Serverless technologies, such as AWS Lambda, have also seen significant rise in adoption. Along with its advantages, serverless computing presents new security challenges: significantly larger amount of components to secure and the inability to protect them with traditional security solutions.
The integrated Aqua-PureSec solution secures both containers and serverless functions during development and runtime:
- In development, both container images and serverless functions are scanned for vulnerabilities, sensitive data and security configuration issues.
- In runtime, the Aqua Enforcer, a container itself, ensures that only authorized activity is allowed in the container environment. PureSec Runtime Protection provides visibility and control over the serverless workload, protecting against any malicious activity.
- The Aqua Command Center provides single pane-of-glass visibility and policy management for applications that span both container and serverless technologies.
"As we see containers going into the mainstream, serverless technology are also growing in adoption as a complementary technology," notes Amir Jerbi, CTO and co-founder of Aqua Security. "There will be more hybrid applications leveraging both technologies, and we need to secure them in an easy-to-manage way. Partnering with PureSec, with its leading-edge solution for serverless development and runtime security, is an ideal way to address this need."
"We're excited to partner with Aqua to provide this unified approach," says Shaked Zin, CEO and co-founder of PureSec. "While serverless functions present unique security challenges, it's clear that organizations will want to secure cloud-native applications in a coherent way, applying security controls uniformly across their applications."
The integrated Aqua-PureSec solution is currently available as a private beta. Customers interested in participating should get in touch with Aqua at aquasec.com/serverless.
