LONDON, March 24, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Aqdot will present at CleanEquity Monaco 2014 on March 27th & 28th at the Sporting d'Hiver, Monaco.
CleanEquity Monaco is an annual invitation-only event hosted by Innovator Capital, the London based specialist cleantech investment bank.
Other partners and sponsors include Prince Albert II of Monaco's Foundation, Covington & Burling, Qualcomm, Renault-Nissan Alliance, Autodesk, Polar Star Ventures, PR Newswire, Climate-KIC, Kwittken & Company, The Climate Group, the Monte-Carlo SBM and Monaco Chamber of Economic Development.
Aqdot has been identified by an expert panel as one of the world's most innovative cleantech companies and has been selected to present to senior financial and strategic cleantech investors, policy makers, legislators, end users and media.
Aqdot has developed a proprietary and disruptive chemical encapsulation technology that enables small droplets to be produced that are able to carry 'active materials': for example cleaning enzymes for use in laundry products, and agrochemicals for crop treatment. The high stability and robustness of the droplets allows for a finely controlled release of the contained ingredients while using much less encapsulation material than current products. In addition to giving value to producers and consumers, the highly targeted approach means the use of much reduced active materials with significant performance, cost saving and sustainability benefits.
Aqdot technology is expected to be the platform for a new global business that is targeted for substantial development over the next three to five years. The company is currently working with a number of Tier 1 companies at different points in the value chain to commercialise its technology as quickly as possible.
The company's core technology originated at the University of Cambridge, and the company continues to have the support from the original academic co-founders, Dr Oren Scherman and Prof Chris Abell. Dr John Hamlin joins as the launch CEO bringing 25 years of experience in senior business and technology positions at BP Chemicals. The company chairman is Dr Peter Fields, who, after 20 years at ICI, implemented a buy-and-build strategy as COO to grow European specialty chemical distribution company, Azelis, from €330m to €1.1b in revenue.
The company is aiming for a Series A investment towards the end of 2014 and is potentially looking to include new investors that will compliment our current investors.
