Aprima EHR Among Earliest Products to Achieve Meaningful Use Stage 2 Certification

DALLAS, Aug. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Aprima Medical Software announced today that the company's EHR solution, Aprima PRM 2014 EHR (electronic health record) and PM (practice management), version 14.0, has received Meaningful Use Stage 2 certification as a Complete EHR for use in ambulatory care settings from InfoGard, an accredited ONC-ACB certification body.

This Complete EHR is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee receipt of incentive payments. Certification was received on August 5, 2013 and the certification # is IG-2999-13-0024. Aprima is one of the earliest achievers of Complete Meaningful Use Stage 2 compliance – an arduous process that required the company's EHR software to successfully pass hundreds of rigorous and detailed tests.

Meaningful Use Stage 2 brings many changes, including higher thresholds of utilization compared to Stage 1, expanded Clinical Quality Measures, and exciting new data exchange enhancements that will allow Aprima providers to seamlessly communicate clinical information with other products serving the healthcare industry. For example, when a provider needs to refer a patient outside of their care, the system will be able to automatically generate a referral document to the referring provider.

As with Stage 1, Aprima expects it will continue to hear from customers how easy it is to achieve Meaningful Use Stage 2 compared with other vendors.
