April 5, 2011 Tapestry Launch Ceremony at Legendary Langhorne Carpet Mill; Sales to Aid Tsunami Victims and Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County

PENNDEL, Pa., April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Officials of Langhorne Carpet Company and Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County will "launch" the historic loom shuttle and begin weaving the intricate, commemorative Tree of Life tapestry, proceeds of which will benefit revitalization efforts of Habitat in Japan and in Bucks County. Participating amid more than 1,200 spools of special all-natural wool used in the 19th century Jacquard Wilton process (there are more than 81,000 stitches per tapestry) guided by hundreds of "programmed" hand-punch cards, will be members of the Morrow family, owner-operators of the mill since it opened in 1930, and Linda Andrews, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County. The one-of-a-kind tapestry, to be sold through Habitat, is the inspirational design of internationally acclaimed New York-based designer Alex Papachristidis.
