APR Energy Continues Strategy to Support Growth of African Power Market
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its ongoing strategy to provide reliable and efficient temporary power solutions to the African market, APR Energy's Chief Executive Officer, John Campion recently visited the country of Senegal to meet with representatives from the country's energy sector to discuss the current and future energy situation within the region.
"A fast-track interim power solution such as the ones that APR offer are an ideal short-term solution to Africa's power needs," said Mr. Campion. "Large-scale, permanent infrastructure ultimately needs to be put in place, but in the meantime an interim power source can help ensure that the country's economy is moving in the right direction."
APR Energy has been operating two temporary power facilities within Senegal, totaling 150MW, since mid-2011. During his visit to the country, Mr. Campion toured the APR Energy sites and visited with local employees in addition to his meetings with the country's energy sector leaders.
APR Energy has previously operated several other power facilities in Africa, including plants in Botswana, Mozambique and Burkina Faso. Currently, APR Energy is operating in 16 countries globally.
