appsbar Marks 10,000 User Milestone With Multitude of Celebrity and Personal Apps Published
NEW YORK, May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Within just two weeks of its launch, more than 10,000 people have already joined the appsbar community to be a part of the first cost-free way to create and publish professional-quality, multi-function mobile apps, including chart-topping songstress Kim Sozzi, boxing legend Don King and author of Fashion for Dummies Jill Martin.
Since the beta version of appsbar was launched on April 27, more than 80 percent of appsbar's builders have already submitted personalized, original apps for publication. As appsbar continues to grow organically through recommendations by its users, it has already redefined how mobile apps can engage family and friends, small businesses, and celebrities to their fan base.
Billboard chart topper Kim Sozzi's appsbar app was submitted to iTunes as a download for access to new music and hits like "Feel Your Love," and serves as a way to connect with the star's social networks. Kim immediately found her appsbar app to be a fresh way to give and receive real-time updates and engage with her fans as she tours the globe.
"Our community has swelled organically with incredible new apps being built by a tremendous number of people, including many users who we have enjoyed meeting and hearing their ideas about how we can continue the evolution of appsbar," said Scott Hirsch, founder and CEO of Appsbar Inc. "We knew the apps world needed this tool so anyone could create, and planned to have 1,000 users in the first 90 days, but users have made this more successful than we could have imagined."
As Appsbar Inc. continues to refine the initial beta version of appsbar, it is already being received by diverse and wide-ranging communities as the first, always-free app builder to combine a full-range of technology tools and functions, app store guidelines, and the portal to get apps published.
Approximately half of the apps already approved, submitted and or published through appsbar are from small businesses that designed apps to engage their customers directly with order forms, menus or customer feedback. The rest are personal appsbar apps that have taken mobile communication into bold new directions. appsbar has led to a number of apps designed by people to be a living family tree that includes news, photos, and videos to build a genealogical social network. appsbar has also welcomed several university professors who are using appsbar as a tool to teach their class the art of app building. Non-profit groups and special interest clubs have also used appsbar to reach their audiences.
The rapid success of appsbar is due in part to it being a device and app platform tool so anyone can build an app with a variety of customization options using PCs, Macs or tablet devices, and publish it to either the Apple App Store or Android Market. Another feature includes the thoughtful appsbar internal review that helps users edit their apps to meet the criteria of individual app platforms so it can become publicly available for anyone to download on their mobile device.
People from all walks of life have built apps with the appsbar "wizard" that walks the builder through every step of adding as many or few pages and functions as the creator chooses, with visual and textual clues at each step. As creators build apps page by page, each app becomes more personalized through limitless combinations of background colors and fonts, and the ability to upload images and videos from personal or appsbar media libraries.
