Appointments to the Executive Committee
Syngenta announced today two appointments to the Executive Committee.
BASEL, Switzerland, Aug. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Patricia Malarkey is appointed Head Research and Development with effect from January 1, 2014. Ms. Malarkey, who began her career in toxicology, has over 15 years' experience with the company and has held senior scientific positions in crop protection, seeds and biotechnology in both Europe and the United States. She currently heads the research and development activities of the global Lawn and Garden business. Ms. Malarkey will succeed Robert Berendes, Head Business Development, who has been ad interim leader of R&D since October 2012.
Jonathan Seabrook, Head Corporate Affairs, will join the Executive Committee with effect from October 1, 2013. He has more than 10 years' experience with Syngenta and leads a global team with responsibility for communicating the company's contribution to society and for managing relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including governments and non-governmental organizations, investors, the media and employees.
