Applied Software Further Enhances Its Manufacturing Expertise with Key New Staff Addition
Jason Miles will help manufacturing companies optimize their use of Autodesk manufacturing and mechanical design tools
ATLANTA, Jan. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Applied Software, a leading and nationally recognized Autodesk Value-Added Reseller, announced today that computer-aided manufacturing and mechanical design expert Jason Miles has joined its professional services team. In his new role as senior applications specialist, Miles will assist Applied Software customers in the Southeastern U.S. in implementing and optimizing their use of Autodesk manufacturing and 3D design and engineering solutions, including AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Maya software.
Prior to joining Applied Software, Miles served as a product engineer for Thomasville Furniture, where he produced detailed product construction drawings. Promoted to import product engineer, he helped to regulate Thomasville's engineering and design standards for overseas manufacturing. He later transitioned to the company's corporate arm, Furniture Brands International, as a digital design specialist, where he used Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Maya software to produce engineered drawings and photo-realistic renderings of Thomasville, Broyhill and Drexel Heritage products for design and marketing. During this time, he also trained co-workers in Autodesk Inventor and provided IT support for all Autodesk products throughout the company. He holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Drafting and Design with a minor in Computer Information Systems.
"We're pleased to welcome Jason to our manufacturing and mechanical engineering professional services team," said Richard Burroughs, president, Applied Software. "He brings a wealth of design experience and understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities of using CAD drafting, design and 3D rendering tools in the manufacturing industry. He also knows exactly how to train others to get the most out of these tools."
