Application deadline for UTSA online degree program in cyber security approaches

SAN ANTONIO, May 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is currently accepting applications for its groundbreaking new fully online degree program in cyber security, and the deadline to apply for the fall of 2017 is approaching. Applications for the fall of 2017 are due on June 1 for this innovative program that will allow students to earn a B.B.A. in cyber security entirely through distance learning.
UTSA's cyber security programs were ranked No. 1 in the nation by the independent and highly regarded Ponemon Institute based on a survey of IT executives. UTSA's academic and research programs are recognized for excellence by both the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Students in the online degree program will have access to the same vast cyber security expertise that UTSA students currently experience on-campus. The program will include over 30 industry-aligned certificates in specializations such as cyber intrusion detection, cyber incident response, and cyber attack analysis. Students will also earn badges and micro-certificates along the way, providing additional relevance to the job market.
Graduates of UTSA cyber security programs go on to work at security firms as well as government agencies like the NSA, CIA and FBI and for major business corporations such as USAA, Rackspace and H-E-B.
Partnering with the University of Texas System's innovation department, the new online degree program is supported by Total Educational Experience (TEx), a web-based learner platform that guides students on personalized journeys throughout their lifetime.
