FRAMINGHAM, Mass. and SAN FRANCISCO, April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- IDG World Expo concluded another successful Macworld/iWorld event on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Moscone Center North in San Francisco. The world's largest gathering of Apple fans, enthusiasts and industry watchers, featured more than 50 tech talks covering buzzed-about topics like Bitcoin, NSA, wearables, iOS, OS X Mavericks and iCloud and showcased hundreds of exhibitors and developers with new-to-market products, apps, tools and technologies including Logbar's Ring, FLIR ONE, Lumo Lift and others.

Macworld/iWorld 2015 will take place from March 12-14 in San Francisco. The event promises to highlight the latest in hardware, software, apps and content focused on enhancing the user experience with Apple products.
During Macworld/iWorld 2014, the Expo Hall was buzzing with Apple-product fans where hundreds of exhibitors and developers showcased the latest in wearables to IoT technologies, to the best in apps, software and accessories for the Mac, iPhone, iPod and iPad. The show floor also included Appalooza, where developers showcased hundreds of the latest iOS and OS X app creations.
"We are a small group of engineers without a lot of tradeshow experience but we were astonished by the success and demand we've experienced with Grip&Shoot at Macworld/iWorld," said Bob Zajeski, vice president of engineering at Grip&Shoot. Some attendees and exhibitors walked away this year with prizes, bragging rights or both. More than 1,200 attendees participated in the iBeacon-powered scavenger hunt and were entered into a drawing to win a MacMania cruise to the British Isles. Macworld/iWorld and SF New Tech created the first-ever competition that focuses solely on products emerging out of the Apple ecosystem with 6 About to Break. During a live competition on Second Stage, the audience and a panel of all-star judges selected Avegant Glyph and Petcube as co-winners. Additionally, Macworld Magazine announced the standout products from Macworld/iWorld with its Best of Show 2014 winners, which included Akitio Palm RAID, Arcsoft Simplicam,Binary Formations Chore-inator, BusyContacts, Cloak,Creaceed Emulsio, FLIR ONE, Goal Zero Sherpa 100 Power Pack, Kamino,Kanex Thunderbolt Adapters and Sonoma Wire Works Guitar Jack Stage.
Outside the Expo Hall, conference attendees participated in learning opportunities and attended sessions from industry luminaries with more than 50 tech talks covering topics like Bitcoin, NSA, wearables, iOS, OS X Mavericks and iCloud. These themes carried through to the State of Apple and Age of Context keynotes.
Jason Snell from IDG kicked-off Macworld/iWorld with State of Apple 2014. Apple industry watchers and experts from Creative Strategies, More.com, Mashable and Wired came together for an animated discussion on the current state and the future of Apple and its growing marketplace. Additionally, tech luminaries and authors Robert Scoble and Shel Israel presented on the future of technology as iBeacon, wearables, mobile and big data collide to provide users with experiences that transcend the screen and discussed insight from their new book, "Age of Context: Mobile, Sensors, Data and the Future of Privacy."
Inspiring future generations, Jean MacDonald, founder of App Camp for Girls, along with Editor Kelly Guimont from TUAW and Developer Natalie Osten from Smile Software, conducted a hands-on mini-camp for a group of pre-teens, teenage girls and mentors. Attendees of the Macworld/iWorld App Camp for Girls Open House learned what it takes to develop an app, pursue software development as a career, and inspire and support the next generation of women in technology.
Additionally, famed computer game designer Robyn Miller talked to a room of fans about his experience co-designing "Myst" with yesterday's technology, and previewed his latest endeavor of writing and directing "The Immortal Augustus Gladstone."
