Apollo Solar Energy Hosts Ms. Reta Jo Lewis, Special Representative, U.S. Global Intergovernmental Affairs
CHENGDU, China, Dec. 2, 2010 /PRNewswire-Asia-First Call/ -- Apollo Solar Energy, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: ASOE) ("Apollo" or "the Company"), a vertically integrated miner, refiner and producer of high purity tellurium (Te), tellurium-based compounds and other metals for the solar photovoltaic (PV) industry and specific segments of the electronic materials market worldwide, as well as design and construction of solar PV projects and solar power stations in the People's Republic of China, today announced that Ms. Reta Jo Lewis, Special Representative, U.S. Global Intergovernmental Affairs, visited the Company's manufacturing facilities in Chengdu, China on November 30. Ms. Lewis works to build and enhance relationships between state and local officials in the U.S. and their foreign counterparts around the world, and reports directly to the U.S. Secretary of State.
Ms. Lewis, accompanied by U.S. embassy officers, Chengdu general consulate officers and local Chinese government officials, visited Apollo's manufacturing facilities in Chengdu, and met with Dr. Jingong Pan, Apollo's recently appointed CEO, and the other members of the Company's management team. Ms. Lewis observed the Company's capabilities to extract Te from its own mines and its state-of-the-art refining and manufacturing facility, and discussed with the Company its ambitious plans to become a leading material supplier for the thin film PV panels industry in the future.
