New courses address evolving standards and academic needs

The new courses demonstrate the company's continued commitment to ensuring Apex Learning online courses fully meet expectations as standards evolve, as well as new investments in Career and Technical Education.

Apex Learning has announced the first two courses in a series of Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses that provide an opportunity for high school students to get a head start on preparing for careers in several fields.
Introduction to Health Science is the first in a set of courses that will prepare students for certification in careers that may include nursing assistant, medical coder and medical assistant. Similarly, Business Applications is the first in a sequence of business and technology courses offering Microsoft Office Specialist certifications along with hands-on experience and portfolio building opportunities. Each of these CTE courses is part of a program of study that gives students the skills, experience and credentials they need to enter the workforce upon completion.
To ensure the expectations of state-specific standards are satisfied, Apex Learning has announced new math courses specifically aligned to the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards for Mathematics and the new North Carolina and South Carolina state-specific College and Career Ready Standards. These courses include Georgia Coordinate Algebra, Analytic Geometry and Advanced Algebra and Math I, II and III in North Carolina and Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II in South Carolina.
In addition, Apex Learning has announced Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC) based on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The IPC course is in addition to 13 existing Texas-specific courses in math, English, science and social studies.
The Apex Learning 2014–2015 course catalog also includes new English 11 and English 12 courses developed to fully meet the expectations of the Common Core State Standards, a new AP U.S. History course to addresses the revisions to the College Board specifications for the course and associated exam, a new AP English Language course, and an AP Psychology course updated to reflect changes to terminology in the field of psychology.
