Apex CoVantage And Cleveland Utilities Celebrate Successful Completion Of ProField® Meter Installation Project
HERNDON, Va., Dec. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Today Apex CoVantage announced the on-time, on-budget completion of the Cleveland Utilities Meter Installation Project. The endeavor proved to be a great success, largely because of Apex's ProField® technology used to manage the replacement of meters throughout Cleveland Utility's service territory in Tennessee.
"Apex's ProField technology was exceptional," raved Aaron Kinser of Cleveland Utilities. "Its real-time web portal gave my team instant access to what was happening in the field. We had total visibility at all times and could address potential issues long before they became problems."
The quality of work, as demonstrated by Apex installation teams and Project Management, further contributed to the client's overall level of satisfaction. "Our project was a resounding success," Kinser added. "Apex installers were consistently top-notch while Apex's Project Manager was highly competent and responsive at all times. All played a huge role in the success of this project."
ABOUT PROFIELD®:
ProField, Smart Grid industry's only ERP system for mass meter deployment, covers the full spectrum of functionality including: asset management, training and certification, remote management of field operations, fault-resistant workflows, and real-time reporting. ProField is ideal for electric, water and gas utilities rolling out Smart Grid deployments.
PROJECT NEWS:
Work was completed ahead of schedule in September 2012, presenting savings for both companies and highlighting the efficient management properties of ProField.
"We were amazed that Apex successfully installed so many meters in such short time," says Kinser. "Their management did a great job of communicating all issues and kept us abreast on installation schedules and deadlines."
Kinser is especially pleased with the improved documentation and communication that ProField makes possible. "If one of our customers called after their meter was upgraded, I could respond immediately, equipped with ProField's real-time database which includes customer name/address, comprehensive images from the field, and installation time, as well as information regarding the installer who performed the work."
"Cleveland Utilities was a great partner," Brian Whitson, Apex Project Manager, concludes. "Their supplier-as-partner philosophy created an environment of trust that enabled Apex to operate at its full potential and deliver the highest value to Cleveland Utilities."
Apex is the smart metering industry's leading innovator, with ProField being implemented throughout the United States and in distant places like Brazil and Guam. In Tennessee, Apex will continue to play a supporting role, helping Cleveland Utilities transition and manage their network with state-of-the-art wireless technologies.
