MANCHESTER, England, December 19, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- BBC Sports Personality of the Year award winner Tony McCoy is now a peoples' champion according to bookmaker Fred Done.
Tony McCoy has been the champion jockey 15 times and becomes the first jockey to win the BBC award. McCoy this year won the Grand National on Don't Push It.
Betfred boss Fred Done said,
"I'm absolutely delighted AP has won this award voted for by the public. I'm lucky enough to know AP and he puts his body on the line every single day. He's a born winner but most importantly he's a gent. He cost me a fortune winning the Grand National and he was well backed to win tonight's award. On this occasion I'm delighted to pay out and it's great for racing."
