Antitrust And Commercial Litigation Expert Andrew Abere Joins The Brattle Group
Brings Significant Testifying Experience to Brattle's Litigation and Finance Practice
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Feb. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Global economic consulting firm The Brattle Group announced today that antitrust and commercial litigation expert Andrew Abere has joined the firm as a Principal in the Litigation and Finance Practice. Dr. Abere will initially split his time between New York City and the firm's Washington, DC office.
Dr. Abere has over twenty years of experience consulting to public and private companies, law firms, and government agencies in matters involving antitrust, consumer protection, contracts, fraud, intellectual property, product liability, securities, and white collar crime. His experience spans a wide range of industries, including transportation, financial services, consumer products manufacturing and retailing, health care, and pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Abere has served as an expert witness for several high profile litigation matters. Most notably, he testified on damages on behalf of The Coca-Cola Company in the PepsiCo v. Coca-Cola antitrust litigation, and on behalf of BDO Seidman in the Health Management and Jennifer Convertibles securities fraud litigation. Dr. Abere also served as a court-appointed damages expert in United States District Court for the Newell v. Rubbermaid breach of contract litigation. He has appeared on behalf of clients in antitrust matters before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the Italian Antitrust Authority, and the French Competition Council.

Prior to joining Brattle, Dr. Abere was a Senior Economist at Princeton Economics Group, a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young LLP, and an Economist at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. In addition to consulting, Dr. Abere has also held positions at Columbia University, New York University, and Rutgers University, where he has taught courses in industrial organization, microeconomic theory, and the economic analysis of law. He holds a Ph.D., M.Phil., M.A., and B.A. in Economics from Columbia University.
