HOUSTON, March 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Arup, the global design and consulting firm for the built environment, is pleased to announce Ricardo Pittella, PE, LEED AP has joined its Houston office as Buildings Group Leader. A specialist in the design and analysis, and documentation of steel, reinforced concrete, and composite structures, he has delivered numerous projects in the U.S., Mexico, Brazil, and China.

Arup established its building engineering team in Houston four years ago, and currently has a 20-member staff. The firm plans to grow the team to 50 people within three years, and contribute to the most significant projects in the state.
The Arup Houston office is currently working on major projects in several sectors throughout the state. These include the Houston International Airport Terminal D Renovation/Expansion, the Blanton Museum Repository at UT Austin, the San Antonio Museum of Art central plant, mechanical upgrades for the Kimball Art Museum, the Amon Carter Museum renovation, the Childsafe Project in San Antonio, the Hotel Santa Rita in Midland, and a new 120 room boutique hotel in Austin.
With Arup since 1997, Pittella transfers to Texas after launching the firm's Brazil office; previously, he was based in the New York office, where he was the Structural Discipline Leader and the Americas Region Structural Skills Leader.
