DENVER, March 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Antero Resources Corporation (NYSE: AR) ("Antero" or the "Company") announced today that it has commenced an underwritten public offering of 11,500,000 shares of the Company's common stock (the "Offering"). In addition, the Company anticipates granting the underwriter a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 1,725,000 shares of common stock. The common stock is being sold in the Offering pursuant to an effective registration statement on Form S-3 previously filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (the "Commission"). The underwriter intends to offer the shares from time to time for sale in one or more transactions on the New York Stock Exchange, in the over-the-counter market, through negotiated transactions or otherwise at market prices prevailing at the time of sale, at prices related to prevailing market prices or at negotiated prices.
The Company expects to use the net proceeds from the Offering, including the proceeds from any exercise of the underwriter's option to purchase additional shares of common stock, to repay a portion of the outstanding borrowings under its credit facility.
