PITTSBURGH, June 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- ANSYS, Inc. (NASDAQ: ANSS) engineering simulation solutions are helping Drayson Racing Technologies (DRT) – a pioneer in the development of high-performance electric drivetrains and wireless electric vehicle charging systems – develop the next generation of its innovative technologies.
DRT extensively uses the ANSYS® suite of electronics solutions for the ongoing development and evolution of systems for electric vehicles. Using ANSYS simulation to explore and evaluate systems has enabled substantial reduction in weight as well as improvements in efficiency.
"DRT was born at the racetrack, where the crucible of motorsport competition incubates and rapidly iterates new technologies," said Manuela Pinuela, chief technology officer of DRT. "Electric powertrain development is one such area that we saw huge potential in while developing our landspeed record-breaking, all-electric Drayson B12/69 EV. ANSYS is a natural partner for us as we look to accelerate the development of our systems and solutions."
"Motorsport has long been a hotbed of fast, aggressive innovation that has changed the way we drive on and off of the track," said Sandeep Sovani, director of global automotive industry at ANSYS. "Drayson Racing Technologies continues in this bold tradition, and we are very proud to partner with such an innovative team. We look forward to the rapid development of new technologies – which will make their way into general consumers' automobiles – and the opportunities to support DRT as it brings these products to market."
