Organization names new President and Vice Chairmen
NEW YORK, Dec. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Answer the Call - The New York Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund, today announced new leadership roles for three members of the Board of Directors - President and Vice Chairmen.
Board President Kevin Parker, CEO of Sustainable Insight Capital Management, has decided to step down from his position as President of the organization. Mr. Parker has served on the Board of Directors since 2004, acting as President for the last five years, and will now become a Vice Chairman of the Board.
Board Member Philip V. Moyles, Jr., Managing Principal & CEO of Vanbridge LLC, has been named the new President of the Board of Directors. Mr. Moyles, a resident of Rye, New York, has served on the Board since May 2007 and is also a member of the Board's Executive Committee. In this new position, Mr. Moyles will oversee the day to day operations of the Benefit Fund and further the Benefit Fund's mission to support the families of New York City's fallen first responders.
In addition, Board Member Lawrence M.v.D. Schloss has been named Vice Chairman of the Board. Prior to his new role, Mr. Schloss served on the Board for over twenty years and is also a member of the Board's Executive Committee. He is currently President of Angelo, Gordon & Co., and is a former New York City Deputy Comptroller for Asset Management. He resides in Manhattan.
Aside from these changes, the remaining officer positions of the Board will remain the same. Stephen J. Dannhauser will continue to be the Chairman of the Board and the following officer positions will remain unchanged: Mark Douglas Messier as VP of Community Affairs, John W. Neary as Treasurer, John Nolan as Assistant Treasurer, and Brian A. Waldbaum as Secretary.

About The New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund
The New York Police and Fire Widows' and Children's Benefit Fund provides assistance to the families of New York City Police Officers, Firefighters, Port Authority Police and EMS Personnel who have been killed in the line of duty. Since its founding in 1985 by Daniel J. "Rusty" Staub, the charity has distributed over $130 million to hundreds of families. The Benefit Fund provides immediate and ongoing financial assistance in the form of annual distributions to grieving families after they lose their loved one. In addition, the Benefit Fund provides an ongoing network of support and gatherings for these families to cope and connect after such tragedy. The Benefit Fund serves approximately 600 families, and the goal is to provide meaningful assistance to the beneficiaries for the rest of their lives.
