Proceeds from the event, held at Ahwatukee Country Club in Phoenix, Arizona, were given to the Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation in honor of cancer graduate Tyler Danner, who is a student at Northern Arizona University.
David Danner, national distribution manager for Megger as well as Tyler's father and event co-coordinator said, "With the event hosting more than 130 golfers this year, we are reminded how enthusiastic people are to support this deserving foundation. We are humbled and touched each time."
Diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma eight years ago, Tyler underwent chemotherapy and radiation treatments at Phoenix Children's Hospital. "Arranging this event and donating all of the proceeds is how we like to give back and show our appreciation to Phoenix Children's Hospital. Megger makes this all possible for me and my family. It is truly incredible," said Danner.
The event, which is hosted by the Megger US distribution team, authorized distributors, customers, employees and representatives from Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation, proudly raised an additional $1,500 this year over last year's event.
Mike Palmer, event co-coordinator and western regional distribution sales manager for Megger said, "We were able to raise $2,000 through the 50/50 raffle alone. Raffle winner, Dave Tanquary, did not keep his prize, he generously donated all of his winnings back to the hospital." An additional donation was made by IEC Supply LLC in support of the event.
"As in years past, Larry H. Miller Nissan Mesa was poised to provide a 2015 Nissan Altima to any golfer that got a hole-in-one at hole 12 from 165 yards away. Unfortunately, no one claimed the prize this year," said Danner.
The Phoenix Girls' Choir also raised $1,000 through the sale of $5 mulligans and $1 raffle tickets sold for a chance to win one of three gift baskets donated by Popcornopolis.
This year's event winners were Andy Augustyniak, Andrew Augustyniak, Jim Cooke, and Jamie Braley from Newark Electronics.
Peg Houck, marketing manager for Megger US distribution said, "The overwhelming support from our customers, employees and vendors is so wonderful. We always appreciate the hard work everyone puts in before the event as well as the support we receive during it."
