Announcing Wharton Fellows @ The Conference Board
NEW YORK, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Conference Board, the global nonprofit research and business membership organization, today announced the launch of Wharton Fellows@The Conference Board, a collaborative venture in executive education.
Wharton Fellows@The Conference Board builds on the combined strengths of The Conference Board, with renowned expertise in facilitating peer-to-peer learning through its 82-year Councils program, and the 10-year success of the Wharton Fellows executive education program of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
"We are delighted to add the excellent Wharton Fellows program to our peer-learning portfolio," said Lorrie Foster, vice president, Councils, The Conference Board. "We'll be working closely with The Wharton School to bring the best of both organizations to the Fellows experience."
"This is a perfect match," said Yoram (Jerry) Wind, The Lauder Professor, professor of marketing, and director, SEI Center for Advanced Studies in Management at Wharton, who will continue to direct the Wharton Fellows program. "The Conference Board Councils, like the Wharton Fellows program, emphasize dialogue, interaction, practical learning, and actionable ideas."
Wharton Fellows@The Conference Board combines experiential learning with on-site visits to best-practice companies in a series of educational programs designed to enlighten individuals responsible for organizational transformation. Accepted Fellows are typically CEOs of small- to mid-size companies or organizations, or C-suite executives from larger environments. The programs take the form of "Master Classes" held in selected high-growth companies around the world, and include introductions to people who can help Fellows engender growth and organizational transformation in their own businesses. Since 2000, hundreds of Wharton Fellows have attended these Master Classes, many of them attending the 12 required to achieve the status of an alumnus/a of The Wharton School.
The Conference Board Councils are 120-plus, invitation-only networks around the world that group individuals by function to learn with and from each other in strictly confidential forums. Council members, and now Wharton Fellows, benefit from special access to The Conference Board economics and business research and expertise, and its wide range of programs and services. With offices in Brussels, Beijing, Hong Kong, and Mumbai, The Conference Board is a widely quoted independent source of economic and management intelligence such as the Consumer Confidence Index®, The Conference Board Employment Trends Index™, and The Conference Board Leading Economic Index® for the United States and nine other countries/regions. Its annual research reports include CEO Top 10 Challenges, Top Executive Compensation, Directors' Compensation and Board Practices, and Corporate Contributions. Combined insights from experts and a membership of more than 1,600 global companies drive The Conference Board agendas for research, conferences, and public and private business dialogues.
