WASHINGTON, Nov. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Aspen Institute Summit on Inequality & Opportunity is a one-day gathering in Washington, DC, dedicated to nonpartisan dialogue about the widening opportunity gap in the United States. More than 300 policy makers, thought leaders, social entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and practitioners will gather at the Newseum on November 19th for a program that explores the newest research, best practices, and emerging innovations in the fight against poverty. The Summit will begin with a half-day public program, followed by an afternoon of policy roundtable discussions.

"Income inequality and the widening opportunity gap are the defining issues of our time," said Aspen Institute President and CEO Walter Isaacson. Leading the dialogue will be a host of experts, pioneering practitioners, and big thinkers including Cecelia Munoz, Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council, Darren Walker, President of the Ford Foundation, Arthur Brooks, President of The American Enterprise Institute, Educator and 2014 National Poetry Slam Champion Clint Smith, and Baltimore City Health Commissioner, Dr. Leana Wen. A panel of local youth will also join the program.
