DENVER, Feb. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Photobucket Corporation, a leading online photo sharing and print community, today officially launched Photobucket Print Shop™ for Mobile, giving users the ability to order personalized photo gifts right from their iOS and Android devices. Photobucket Print Shop™ for Mobile offers consumers the ability to use images not only from their camera roll and Photobucket account, but also from popular services such as Facebook, Instagram and Dropbox. Those images can be used to customize and order products such as canvas prints, photo gifts and standard prints. Photobucket, a pioneer in desktop and mobile photo sharing, launched their mobile apps in 2010 with their patented auto-upload technology. Since then 1.2 billion photos have been uploaded through the Photobucket mobile apps.
Consumers use the Photobucket mobile apps to share their photos, videos and animated GIFs with friends and families, or to their favorite social network, forum or blog. "Consumers trust Photobucket to preserve and share digital versions of their memories," said Kate Hare, Chief Product & Marketing Officer at Photobucket. "With so many original photos being uploaded through our mobile apps, it only makes sense to allow our customers to print directly from their mobile device," continued Kate. "Creating printed memories is another way to preserve and share them."
Photobucket is poised to take advantage of the explosive growth in both mobile commerce and mobile device photography. According to CMO.com, mobile drove the overall online boom in sales the 2014 print holiday season, accounting for 27-29% of overall sales for both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, up from 21% and 24% in 2013. Photobucket's existing mobile audience averages 3 million unique users per month. With this user base, Photobucket is planning to capture a large share of the mobile print-on-demand market in 2015 by monetizing its existing user base as they take, store and share the digital photos.
Photobucket launched its desktop Print Shop(™) in September of 2014. In November 2014, Photobucket and AOL announced their partnership to provide Photobucket Print Shop™ and Photobucket photo hosting services to AOL's extensive consumer base. Photobucket achieved a 10x increase in YoY print revenue from the success of the new print service.
