Announcing New Face of Freedom: Liberty Institute; Liberty Legal Institute and Free Market Foundation Join Forces
PLANO, Texas, March 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Liberty Legal Institute and Free Market Foundation are proud to announce the new face of freedom, Liberty Institute. Effective immediately, the two organizations are joining forces and combining resources to better protect freedoms and strengthen families.
"Our new name, Liberty Institute, now gives us the ability to clearly show what we stand for," said Kelly Shackelford, President and CEO of Liberty Institute. "In this day and age, it has never been more important to ensure Constitutional and First Amendment freedoms are upheld in the courts, legislature and public-square."
Liberty Institute's bold move shows its commitment to stand strong for the values America holds dear, including free speech, religious freedom, traditional marriage, and the sanctity of life. Liberty Institute will also continue to advocate for traditional family values, limited government, and freedom in accordance with its mission.
In recent months, Liberty Institute has stood alongside more than four million veterans at the U.S. Supreme Court to save the Mojave Desert War Memorial in the Don't Tear Me Down campaign, defended citizen-journalist Hannah Giles' First Amendment rights in lawsuits brought by ACORN as a result of her exposing their corrupt practices, and has led the charge to keep Christmas and numerous historical figures in social studies standards in Texas.
Liberty Institute, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, was founded as Free Market Foundation in 1972 to protect freedoms and strengthen families. In 1997, Liberty Legal Institute was formed to uphold Constitutional and First Amendment religious and speech freedoms in the courts. Since its inception nearly 40 years ago, Liberty Institute has grown into a legal and legislative powerhouse.
