Hispanic National Bar Association Holds its 37th Annual Convention in Seattle: The Voice of the Future ~ La Voz De Nuestro Futuro
SEATTLE, Aug. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) invites you to attend the 37th Annual Convention at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel. The Annual Convention is the HNBA's flagship event with a portfolio of activities and events for legal professionals and students. Hosted by the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington, this year's Convention promises to be the largest gathering of Latino lawyers, judges, and law students in the United States. The Convention is expected to host 800 attendees including many of the country's most influential Latino leaders, high profile guest speakers, magnificent exhibitors, and cutting-edge courses in litigation, corporate law, public interest law, and public service. Law students can participate in the nation's largest Latino legal job fair in the country on Friday, August 24, while high school students can attend the Youth Law Symposium on Saturday, August 25.
Join the HNBA with the opening kick-off happy hour and reception on August 22, 2012, hosted by Microsoft Corporation and Perkins Coie LLP. The kickoff event will feature interactive Xbox 360 gaming and a free copy of Microsoft Office software to the first 300 attendees who were early registrants. On Thursday, August 23, the Convention program will officially begin with welcome remarks from King County Executive Dow Constantine and the opening reception Thursday evening will be sponsored and hosted by the Gates Foundation, with the Honorable Justice Steven Gonzalez of the Washington Supreme Court, as the keynote speaker. On Friday, August 24, the HNBA Commission on Latinas in the Legal Profession's Third Annual Award Luncheon will feature keynote speaker the Honorable Mari Carmen Aponte, US Ambassador to El Salvador. Friday night's reception at Tillicum Village will be the site for the presentation of the prestigious Ohtli Award - an award dedicated to honoring an attorney who has made a significant impact on the Latino community in the United States. The Convention will culminate on Saturday, August 25, with an Awards Gala Dinner featuring actress and activist, Rosario Dawson, and Brad Smith, General Counsel of Microsoft, as keynote speakers.
The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership organization that represents the interests of the more than 100,000 Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, and law students in the United States and its Territories.
