Annita L. Shaw is recognized by Continental Who's Who

SILVERDALE, Wash., Aug. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Annita L. Shaw, Former Business Owner, Art Educator, Beloved Teacher and Wife of Max Leroy Shaw, is recognized by Continental Who's Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the fields of Art and Art Education.              

Shaw dedicated herself to being an educator that made a difference. Over the course of her life, Shaw's professional titles included Owner at Kenneth Shaw Family Farms and Retired Art Educator at the Central Kitsap School District. In addition to teaching art at Central Kitsap, she also taught art in Omaha, Nebraska and Science in New London, Connecticut. In the Central Kitsap school district, she taught not only art but also language arts, and served as the yearbook advisor at Fairview Junior High, and also taught art at Klahowya Secondary School.

Additionally, Shaw kept extraordinarily busy in her retirement from teaching by assuming her new role of Owner of the family farm, managing the farm as well as rental properties, and establishment of the nonprofit Charcot Awareness Educational Foundation. 

Shaw held a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Chadron State College in Nebraska and a Master of Arts degree in Supervision and Direction from New York University.

On January 4th, 2017, Shaw, who was 75, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, and her husband, Max Leroy Shaw accepts the honor of Pinnacle Professional of the Year on her behalf. She was also honored by a number of who's who publications throughout the course of her career in recognition of her hard work and dedication as an art educator.

Shaw was loved by her son, Justin Owen Shaw; her daughter-in-law, Micke Aline (Middelhoven) Shaw; her grandson Spencer Kenneth Shaw; and the thousands of students whose lives she touched during her 39 years of teaching.
