As a private, nonprofit institution established by the state of Missouri, WGU Missouri works in partnership with its parent institution, Western Governors University. The Advisory Board is comprised of individuals who reside in Missouri and provide guidance on the most effective ways the university can meet the core mission of economic development in the state.

As Vice President for Education Strategies at the St. Louis Regional Chamber, Klein is leading a collaborative effort to increase post-secondary educational attainment. Prior to joining the Chamber Team, Klein was Assistant Director of the St. Louis County Department of Parks & Recreation, advising the County Executive on policy issues that affect the strategic direction of the administration. Formerly, she was Director of Sustainability in the Office of the St. Louis County Executive. Previous positions in her career include: Senior Project Manager for the Community Program Development Corp.; Director of Policy Development for St. Charles County Government; and Director of Government Affairs for the Home Builders Association in St. Louis.
Klein holds a master's degree in Public Policy from American University and a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from the University of Vermont.
