Ann Arbor SPARK Promotes Phil Santer to Lead Business Development Team
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Feb. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ann Arbor SPARK has promoted Phil Santer to vice president of business development. Most recently, Santer, who joined Ann Arbor SPARK in 2012, was the senior business development manager for the organization's Livingston office. In his new position, Santer will oversee Ann Arbor SPARK's efforts to attract and retain growing businesses in the Ann Arbor region.
"Phil's experience, expertise and his commitment to helping businesses address their most pressing needs made him the ideal candidate to lead Ann Arbor SPARK's business development efforts," said Paul Krutko, Ann Arbor SPARK president and CEO. In addition to his work in Livingston, Santer represents Ann Arbor SPARK at the State of Michigan's Regional Prosperity Initiative and the Greater Ann Arbor Region partnership. He is also responsible for managing SPARK's Foreign Direct Investment initiative, which provides project management of internationally-sourced projects.
Santer's economic development experience includes work with the Michigan Economic Development Corp (MEDC), where he worked as an associate for capital access programs and as a manager of state-level incentive programs.
Santer is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University and received his MBA from Wayne State University. He is also an Economic Development Financial Professional certified by the National Development Council. In 2014, Santer was awarded the International Economic Development Council's Young Professional Scholarship.
