WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Ankura Consulting Group (Ankura), a business advisory and expert services firm, announced today the appointment of Stephen O'Malley as Senior Managing Director. Based in the firm's New York office, Mr. O'Malley will lead the eDiscovery practice within the Investigations & Accounting Advisory group.
Mr. Stephen O'Malley joins Ankura as Senior Managing Director with more than 15 years of experience involving global litigation, eDiscovery, information technology ("IT") and investigation matters. He has led forensic technology investigation teams responsible for notable projects including the investment securities liquidation of one of the largest Ponzi schemes in history, an SEC Receivership (resulting in more than $345 million in approved claims), and a NYSE specialist investigation. As a key member of the forensic investigation team retained by the Trustee in the Ponzi scheme matter, Mr. O'Malley played a pivotal role in the technical systems investigation leading to findings on the manner in which investor accounts were manipulated and fabricated account performance balances were reported to investors. He has also served as an expert witness in the areas of analysis and restoration of electronic data, electronic discovery best practices, and testing related computer software. Mr. O'Malley was most recently with FTI Consulting.
"Our eDiscovery practice continues to be a core area of growth in our expansion of client services," said Roger Carlile, Chief Executive Officer of Ankura. "Stephen has proven his leadership in some of the most high-profile investigations of our time, and we're happy to welcome him to Ankura. His experience in eDiscovery will complement the skills of the practice and help Ankura provide more robust capabilities in this critical area."
