Anheuser-Busch Opens The Biergarten In Fort Collins
Anheuser-Busch's Fort Collins Brewery and Tour Center Adds New Beer and Food Offerings with Indoor-Outdoor Space
FORT COLLINS, Colo., Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, Dec. 5, beer lovers can raise a glass and cozy up to the fire to celebrate the opening of The Biergarten, the newest addition to the Anheuser-Busch brewery and Tour Center and the Fort Collins beer community. The new Biergarten, an expansion of the Tour Center's footprint, includes indoor and outdoor space reminiscent of traditional German biergartens and offers a variety of beer and food options for guests.
During the first public event at The Biergarten on Dec. 5, aptly named "Fire Pit Friday," patrons can enjoy a variety of Anheuser-Busch beers while listening to live music outside by cozy fire pits and noshing on s'mores, complimentary with a non-perishable donation to the Larimer County Food Bank. Additional Fire Pit Fridays are planned for Dec. 12 and 19.
"'The Choice City' lives up to its name when it comes to beer. With so many fantastic breweries nearby, Anheuser-Busch is proud to be part of Fort Collins' thriving beer culture," said Kevin Fahrenkrog, senior general manager, Anheuser-Busch Fort Collins brewery. "The Biergarten gives visitors a chance to talk about beer with our ambassadors and brewers, who are excited to share their passion with guests."
Guests at The Biergarten will learn about beer styles, how to pour and present beer and how to pair beer with food. With more than 18 beers on draught, patrons can try a variety of beers and participate in a Brewmaster's Tasting every day at 3 p.m. – the same time Anheuser-Busch brewmasters from around the country taste beer each day to make sure it is of the highest quality and consistency. The Biergarten will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and there is no charge for admission.
"Bringing The Biergarten concept to Fort Collins, a place where people appreciate great beer, was a natural step for us. We've been brewing beer and welcoming guests to our brewery for 25 years, and this new space is another opportunity to share our story, our passion and our people with the community," added Fahrenkrog.
The decor and imagery of The Biergarten will feature many of these traditional elements and pay homage to Anheuser-Busch's rich brewing history, including the Budweiser creed in copper behind the bar and a historical timeline spanning from 1852 to the opening of the brewery.
Biergartens are a common part of beer culture and places where friends and families gather to enjoy each other's company over drinks and food. These traditional outdoor settings originated in Southern Germany in the 19th century, but spread in popularity around the world as beer grew to be a global beverage of choice.
