INDIANAPOLIS, June 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Back in 1995, Angie Hicks was the Angie's List call center.

Working alone to launch the company, she fielded every call at her card table desk, brought in the fledgling company's first 1,000 members and handled everything from the research to the books.
Tomorrow afternoon, she's going back to the phones for the consumer reviews company, which now has more than 1 million members and offers consumer reviews on everything from home improvement to healthcare throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada.
Angie will be wearing a headset in the company's national headquarters from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 28. She'll just be one of the team, taking calls as they come in on a rotation system.
"No, I haven't been demoted. I just want to get back into the trenches," she said, predicting that she still has what it takes to be a top performer among the 70 or so current Call Center staff. "It's been a while, but I think I can still help people understand why Angie's List is a service that will work for them," she said.
Anyone calling in to buy a membership who draws Angie as their member service representative will receive one additional free year's membership with the purchase of an annual membership. Anyone else calling at that time will receive 40 percent off an annual or multiyear membership. It's possible that Angie will also spin the company prize wheel as an added incentive to the new members she brings in.
Some Call Center team members are already taking bets to determine if they can best the Angie's List spokesperson and co-founder.
"She's been away from this for more than a decade," said Jack Walker, manager of the Call Center. "It's going to be fun to see if we can out-work Angie. Talk about bragging rights!"
