Angelique Lingerie Offers Wide Selection of Halloween Costumes for Plus-Sized Women

DENVER, Aug. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- It's not just for kids. While the pint-sized ghouls and goblins walk the streets in search of candy, the adults also like to dress up, go out and have fun on Halloween.

The adult costume industry, along with the Halloween industry, continues to grow, but there are few companies specializing in the needs of plus-sized women.

Angelique Lingerie, a Denver-based online retailer that experienced a 20 percent increase in sales in 2010, is a top seller of plus-size lingerie and Halloween costumes. The retailer, which has served more than 35,000 customers, has expanded its costume selection for women this year, adding Snow White, CSI Girl and a host of fantasy and fairytale costumes. Owner Mia Bulifa predicts all lines will sell well.

"Last year, like always, the 'classic styles' like school girl, maid, and nurse were great sellers," Bulifa said.

She is also predicting that the Snow White costume will be big for two reasons. One is the new movies that are coming out, and another is that princess costumes are hard to find in plus-sizes.

Bulifa is also predicting that the CSI Girl costume will be a huge hit. It goes well with the hit TV show, and with a jacket it can be a bit more conservative in coverage.

She said that when looking for a costume, women want a unique Halloween costume style with a good fit that accentuates her best features. Angelique Lingerie has a variety of styles, including many that are "sexy and sensual," Bulifa said.

"The trick is to find that special costume that makes you feel like a million dollars and no one else at the party will have the same one," Bulifa said.
