Angel MedFlight's Critical Care Medical Crew Train with High-tech Patient Simulator to Create Real-Time Emergency Scenarios

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 19, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Angel MedFlight Air Ambulance's Flight Nurses and Flight Paramedics train with a lifelike, high-tech patient simulator called SimMan®3G. This full-body simulator allows real-time critical and emergency scenarios for immediate response and recovery. Training on SimMan® is just part of the rigorous orientation process and stringent continuing education hours required of medical flight crew and staff.

SimMan® allows for Angel MedFlight's clinical educators to create true-to-life patient scenarios and cases to test and train flight medical teams.  Since SimMan® is designed with all the functioning systems of a real patient, medical personnel are able to treat the patient as they should and the patient's systems react just as a real patient's systems would in the field. 

SimMan® 3G is virtually lifelike: He blinks, cries, has a pulse, and can make heart, lung and bowel sounds.  His pupils respond to light.  He can secrete from his mouth, eyes, ears and nose.  He responds to medications, anesthesia, oxygen and carbon dioxide.
