SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., April 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Jason Siegert, CEO of Angel MedFlight Worldwide Air Ambulance, was awarded the Patriot Award on Thursday, April 20, 2017. The award was presented to Siegert by Carol Smetana, Arizona ESGR representative. The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award recognizes supervisors for supporting National Guard and Reserve service members. Family members or employees serving in the National Guard or Reserve nominate their supervisors for supporting their military service.
The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
"It's an honor to receive this award. Angel MedFlight does our best to support all of our associates in a meaningful way. We are fortunate to have so many amazing associates - many of which serve or have served our country," Jason Siegert said. "Our company's support of our military members pale in comparison to the support they provide our country."
Since 2014, Jason has led the Angel MedFlight executive team serving as President and most recently Chief Executive Officer. His commitment to excellence in patient care and safety guides the organization and drives continual process improvement.
Prior to joining Angel MedFlight, Jason served as the Director of Operations Finance at Health Management Associates (HMA), a publicly traded, $6 billion net revenue, integrated acute care delivery system with 71 hospitals across 15 states in the United States. Jason helped facilitate the sale of HMA to Community Health Systems, CHS.
Jason has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Florida Gulf Coast University. He is married and the proud father of two children.
To celebrate the Patriot Award, Angel MedFlight honored current associates in the organization that have served and those that continue to serve our armed forces.
"Learning about Jason's recent recognition validates the type of leader that he is to this organization. He measures himself by the development of those around him," said Astronaut Mark Kelly, a member of Angel MedFlight's Board of Directors and retired United States Navy Captain. "His ability to lead has always been about giving those around him the tools to succeed. I commend him for supporting those associates that choose to serve."
ABOUT ESGR:
ESGR, a Department of Defense program, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee's military commitment. ESGR is supported by a network of more than 4,500 volunteers in 54 committees located across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam-CNMI (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands), Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Volunteers, hailing from small business and industry, government, education, and prior military service bring a vast wealth of experience to assist in serving employers, Service members, and their families.
ESGR has served our country for more than 40 years, fostering a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. Find more information at http://www.esgr.mil
About the Patriot Award:
Our Nation has relied heavily on Guard and Reserve Service members since entering continuous operations more than 15 years ago. Employer support enhances retention rates in the Armed Forces and, in the end, strengthens our national security. To recognize employers who support their Guard and Reserve employees, ESGR grants a series of Department of Defense awards.
The first in ESGR's series of awards is the Patriot Award. An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for support provided directly to the nominating Service member and his or her family. The Patriot Award reflects the efforts made to support citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
