The Andrews Kurth team that successfully represented Air New Zealand throughout the DOJ investigation was led by Andrews Kurth partner Roscoe C. Howard, Jr. from the firm's Washington, DC, office.
"Air New Zealand is a wonderful corporate citizen, and has always conducted its business professionally, ethically and legally," says Mr. Howard. "We're pleased the Justice Department has ceased its investigation of our client."
The DOJ and regulators around the world began investigating the air cargo industry in 2006 over allegations of illegal competition and antitrust violations. The airlines were accused of forming a cargo cartel by colluding to raise the price of freight through fuel and security surcharges.
To date, Air New Zealand has been cleared of any wrongdoing by regulators in the U.S., Europe and South Korea.
Mr. Howard was assisted by Andrews Kurth attorney Daniel S. Seikaly and associates Meena Sinfelt and Leasa Woods Anderson.
