Andrews Institute Welcomes Orthopaedic Surgeon Juliet DeCampos, M.D.
GULF BREEZE, Fla., Oct. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine and Baptist Medical Group are proud to announce that orthopaedic surgeon, Juliet DeCampos, M.D., joins their team of specialists. Previously president of Emerald Coast Orthopaedics & STAR Sports Medicine, Dr. DeCampos brings with her more than 14 years of experience in the Pensacola area. She and her entire medical staff will remain at the Andrews Institute's Pensacola location located at Baptist Medical Park - Nine Mile.

Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery with an added qualification in sports medicine, she specializes in the treatment of shoulders and knees, team care, baseball injuries and adolescent athletic injuries. She also is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and is active in many societies and associations.
A summa cum laude graduate of the University of Southern California with a triple major in biology, journalism and exercise physiology, Dr. DeCampos received her medical degree from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. She completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, training with professional team medical directors including Dr. Frank Jobe (Dodgers) and Dr. Lewis Yocum (Angels).
Dr. DeCampos is the medical director of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, a Double-A farm team of the Cincinnati Reds, and also is the team physician for Pine Forest High School. Her extensive background in sports medicine and team coverage includes the Pensacola Pelicans and Pensacola Power (Medical Director for both), the 1996 Olympics, the Olympic Training Center, US Judo Team, USC's women's athletics, and USC volleyball.
Nationally, she has served as president of the women's orthopaedic FORUM, associate master instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and Chief of Staff and Chief of Orthopaedics for Baptist Hospital. She lectures locally on orthopaedic sports medicine, trauma care, cheerleading injuries and shoulder problems; nationally, she has taught at sequential "Mastery of the Rotator Cuff" courses for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and "Masters Shoulder Arthroscopy" courses for AANA for the last 10 years.
