MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrew Zimmern, co-creator, co-executive producer and host of the "Bizarre Foods" franchise, has embarked on a new adventure. Earlier this year, Zimmern launched Intuitive Content, a full-service production company dedicated to developing and producing original television series, broadcast specials, branded content series for both web and cable, and other digital content. Travel Channel green-lit the team's first series, "Meter's Running" (8 x 60 minute episodes).
"Intuitive Content is all about creating ambitious work that delivers for networks, for brands and for viewers wherever they interact with media," says Zimmern. "We convey stories, build brands, illuminate cultures, and aim to inspire, build and navigate a better world."
Intuitive Content's expertise enables the team to mine diverse cultures, capitalizing on Zimmern's unique story-telling ability to create show ideas around compelling human narrative, food, travel and culture. Intuitive's business is entertainment, but as Zimmern puts it, "we will always find the untold stories, telling them with integrity but in a way that entertains and informs and while exceeding our partners' expectations."
Beyond television, Intuitive Content is working with clients on branded entertainment, including a partnership with Renaissance Hotels to create a digital series around The Navigators Table, exclusive behind-the-scenes access to today's most admired chefs, writers and personalities.
"Building a business like this and putting entrepreneurial thought into action is a labor of love," Zimmern adds. "While I love being in front of the camera telling my own stories, discovering and elevating new talent that truly live out their own content is a very rewarding aspect of this new venture."
Meter's Running
In "Meter's Running," Zimmern discovers the streets behind Main Street, the off-the-grid dives and the fun places only insiders like cabbies know how to find. Whether it's a shikara driver in Kashmir, a gondolier in Venice or a taxi driver in the deep South, Zimmern shares a locals-only experience, discovering the uniqueness of every destination. Never staying in the back seat for long, Zimmern and his driver take viewers on an entertaining behind-the-scenes adventure, exploring food and culture from a true insider's perspective.
