Andrew Weis Receives Promotion to Senior Vice President, Federal Civilian Business Unit
ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Aveshka, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Andrew Weis to Senior Vice President, leading the Federal Civilian Business Unit. Mr. Weis joined Aveshka in March, 2012 with the acquisition of Civitas Group's Government Services Practice. Girish K. Mr. Weis has played a lead or major role in developing most of the nation's homeland security laws since 2004, including the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act, the Post-Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act, the Intelligence Reform and Terrorism Prevention Act and the SAFE Port Act. Mr. Weis served as the Minority General Counsel for the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee and before that, as a senior staff member of the House Committee on Homeland Security. Mr. Weis graduated Phi Beta Kappa with honors from Stanford University with a degree in political science. He was selected as a Harry S. Truman Scholar and a John Gardner Public Service Fellow. He earned his law degree from Stanford Law School, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
