About the appointment, Karolyi, whose first publication with the RFS was in 1991, said, "To get the call to edit the Review is both awesome and daunting at the same time. The readership, submission counts and the research impact statistics are all growing by leaps and bounds, so there is a great responsibility as editor to continue the positive momentum."
Karolyi is an internationally-known scholar in the area of investment management with a specialization in the study of international financial markets. At Johnson, Karolyi also holds the Alumni Professorship in Asset Management, and contributes to the research and teaching mission of the Parker Center for Investment Research. This year, Andrew Karolyi was elected president of the Financial Management Association International, a global leader in developing and disseminating knowledge about financial decision making.
Considering his new editorship at RFS, Karolyi noted the special connection between RFS and Johnson, saying, "It is also a special honor because it helps sustain the special on-going relationship between the Review and Johnson's Finance faculty, developed most notably by Professor Maureen O'Hara who previously served as its executive editor."
RFS welcomed Karolyi in a statement expressing confidence that he will "do an excellent job." The journal is published by Oxford University Press, receives almost 1,200 submissions per year, and has a 7.4% acceptance rate. For more about RFS, visit http://www.sfsrfs.org/index.php.
