BOCA RATON, Fla., Sept. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Learning Experience®, one of the nation's fastest-growing Academies of Early Education for children six weeks to six years old, today announced Andrew Alfano has been named President, effective immediately. Alfano currently serves as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at The Learning Experience as he oversees responsibility for all of the company's operating preschool units worldwide, and he will now hold the dual title and role of President and COO. Alfano will continue to report directly to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Richard Weissman.
Weissman, who is also co-founder of The Learning Experience, will remain Chairman and CEO but relinquish the title of President to Alfano. This move is part and parcel of the overall maturity of the company as it continues to focus its growth, both in the U.S. and Europe. This confidence in Alfano relieves Weissman from the day-to-day operations and offers Weissman the opportunity to concentrate his efforts on the overall strategic incentives for expansion of the company as it becomes a world player.
"Andrew has a long tenure in running large, complex organizations with national and global focus, and his period as COO of The Learning Experience has only underscored his leadership skill set," said Weissman. "Our company's current inflection point requires global experience in brand building, including a proven and disciplined record of driving growth and continued profitability and efficiency. Andrew will be instrumental in his role as President to further enhance our business model and deliver long-term value."
The Board of Directors unanimously agreed that Alfano's leadership experience coupled with his strategic thinking and proven ability to deliver results made him the right person to lead the execution of the strategic priorities of The Learning Experience.
Alfano, 50, has been with the company for two years and previously held the title of Senior Vice President, US Business, with Starbucks Coffee Company. During his tenure at The Learning Experience, Alfano alongside Weissman has helped to improve strategic and operational accomplishments which have contributed to greater efficiencies and accelerated financial advancement.
"The Learning Experience is a culture-first company focused on performance, and has been since the Weissman family founded it more than 30 years ago," said Alfano. "I am excited and honored to take on this role and look forward to further partnering with Richard to deliver upon our long-term strategic vision."
Weissman added: "We are fortunate to have incredible depth and breadth of talent in addition to Andrew across the company executive team and system-wide."
