BAYPORT, Minn., Feb. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Andersen Corporation is providing $75,000 in product donations to Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors. The donation provides windows and doors to build ten houses for injured United States military veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
"Andersen has a long-standing commitment to supporting programs that provide critical housing support to individuals and families in communities where we live and work," said Jay Lund, Andersen chairman and CEO. "The Andersen team is pleased to partner with Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors to help improve the lives of veterans who sustained life-changing injuries while serving our country."
Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors serves wounded United States military veterans who sustained a physical injury or wounds during their military service in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom, making it challenging for them to comfortably get around in the privacy of their homes. The organization raises money to build or remodel homes for critically wounded United States military veterans making them 100-percent handicap accessible specific to their injuries.
"On behalf of myself and my foundation, Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors, I want to thank Andersen for its support and commitment to helping us build homes for our injured US military veterans," said Jared Allen, founder and chairman of Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors and former pro football star. "We are happy to start off 2018 with this new relationship between our organizations and look forward to working with the Andersen team throughout the year to complete the home builds for these veterans."
The public is welcome to meet Jared Allen, a former professional American football defensive end, on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 from 1 – 2 p.m. at the KARE 11 Andersen Windows Warming House at Super Bowl Live presented by Verizon on Nicollet Avenue in downtown Minneapolis. The event is free and open to the public.
About Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors
Jared Allen's Homes for Wounded Warriors was formed in October of 2009 by former Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen after he returned home from his USO trip to US Military Bases in the Middle East. Jared was moved by the commitment, dedication, and sacrifices that our soldiers make every day to protect our freedom. He wanted to say thank you to every soldier in the only way that Jared knows how. By embracing the conflict and making a positive life-changing difference in the lives of those who need it most, Jared and the organization will help make life for wounded vets just a little bit easier.
