Ancestry.com Wins Five National Silver ADDY Awards
PROVO, Utah, June 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ancestry.com, the world's largest online family history resource, has won five National Silver ADDY Awards for the five TV commercials in its My Story campaign. Each 60-second commercial tells the story of an American who made an amazing family history discovery on Ancestry.com.
The ADDY Awards are the world's largest advertising competition, and are conducted by the American Advertising Federation, a not-for-profit industry organization.
Created in-house by Ancestry.com, working with Director Jeffrey DeChausse of Boxer Films, the My Story campaign took Ancestry.com members from across the country and told their heartwarming stories of family history discovery. These stories include a man who found answers about the father he lost as a teen and a woman from Chicago who is opening a restaurant with a cousin after exploring how far the cooking talent extended in her family tree. The My Story TV spots have appeared on popular cable networks and channels such as AMC, CNN, Fox News, History Channel, Lifetime Movie Network and Hallmark, among others.
"Our desire was that these ad spots would inspire people of all ages to learn more about their heritage," said Cheyenne Richards, Vice President of Marketing, Ancestry.com. "We're excited to see that not only did the commercials resonate with our customers, but that we've also received distinguished recognition from the advertising community as well."
The My Story campaign has had a remarkable ADDY season. In addition to receiving five national ADDY awards for the campaign, Ancestry.com was also awarded six gold ADDYs at the District level, as well as six gold ADDYs, one silver ADDY, Best in Show and People's Choice Awards at the Utah level. Ancestry.com also received two additional silver Utah ADDY awards for other work.
