MIAMI, Sept. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Chef Adrianne Calvo, the innovative Miami-based culinary goddess, who has created a stunning reputation on the South Florida restaurant scene and has made her name synonymous with excellence, gave hungry and adventurous diners a night they will likely never forget at the historic Coral Gables Country Club with her legendary Dark Dining.

On September 20th 2013, Calvo took over the Gables establishment for a larger-than-life dining in the dark, called Eyes Wide Shut Masquerade Ball where guests were invited to dress up to the nines and bring their sultriest mask for an evening of sensually stimulating entertainment including a burlesque poker demonstration, contortionists, fire throwers, chandelier models, live champagne tables -- sexy mermaids in the country club's pool were a 'must see' for everyone. Calvo hosted two Dark Dining seatings where tables were glammed up with rose petals and candles, all to bare the chef's five course tasting menu, as guest divulged them blindfolded. Calvo, as confident and charismatic a performer as she is a great chef, cleverly described each dish after guests did their very best to speculate what they were chewing on.
Party goers also enjoyed a few of the chef's signature dishes such as osso bucco and sweet corn tamalito. Calvo, known for her bold and fearless moves in the business, has also built a philanthropic name for herself through her foundation, Make it Count, which benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A portion of all the proceeds of Dark Dining Eyes Wide Shut Masquerade Ball went to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
