SEATTLE, Nov. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Treehouse, a Seattle-based nonprofit which has dramatically increased graduation rates for youth in foster care, today announces new leadership to both its Board of Directors and Young Professionals Board.

Amy Mullins was elected to serve as Board Chair. She once held the position of Board Treasurer and currently serves as Vice President, Private Banking Officer for Columbia Bank.
"Amy's expertise and leadership is well suited for the challenges ahead as we work toward graduation equity statewide for youth in foster care by 2022," said Janis Avery, CEO of Treehouse. "We're excited about the caliber of leadership across both boards."
The Board of Directors welcomes three new members:
- Sarah Buhayar, Deputy Director of Strategy Planning and Management at Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation—bachelor's from the University of Chicago, master's degree in education from the National-Louis University and a master's in business from Northwestern University.
- Ashley Mathews, Marketing and Listing Coordinator at Coldwell Banker Bain—undergraduate degree from Colgate University.
- Sharmila Swenson, Manager Local Government Affairs and Public Policy at Puget Sound Energy—bachelor's degree from the University of Washington.
The Young Professionals board appoints Seehee Thomas, formerly an Executive Chair, as President. Thomas is a Senior Recruiter at Amazon and earned her bachelor's degree and law degree from the University of Iowa. YPB members Lakeisha Jackson and Reyana Ugás will serve as Executive Chairs. Jackson is currently a Digital Communities Manager with Microsoft. She earned her bachelor's degree at Western Washington University and her graduate degree from Seattle University. Ugás is a Court Appointed State Advocate Supervisor through King County Superior Court. She earned her bachelor's degree from Saint Martin's University and her master's from the University of Washington.
The YPB welcomes seven new members:
- Jeff Boyer, Senior Development Officer at Greater Seattle Business Association—bachelor's degree from Seattle University.
- Dr. Thelben Burrell, Pediatrician at Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation—bachelor's degree from University of Oklahoma and doctorate from University of Illinois College of Medicine.
- Elana Jimenez, School Counselor for the Bellevue School District—bachelor's degree from University of Washington and a master's degree in counseling from Johns Hopkins University.
- Nate Koweda, Senior Software Engineer at Microsoft—master's degree in computer science from Université Blaise Pascal Clermon-Ferrand II and master's degree in telecommunications from University of Oklahoma.
- Meghan Lockhart, Analyst Relations Manager at Amazon—bachelor's degree from the University of Washington.
- Jimmy Pugel, Senior Tax Associate at RSM US LLP—bachelor's degree from Washington State University and master's degree in accounting from University of Washington
- Leah Stevens, Business Program Manager at Microsoft—bachelor's from the University of Washington
