Amway to Donate More Than $250,000 in Gifts to TODAY Show Toy Drive
ADA, Mich., Dec. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of the AMWAY ONE BY ONE® CAMPAIGN FOR CHILDREN, Amway has donated more than $250,000 in products to NBC's TODAY Show Toy Drive via a direct-selling industry effort to provide holiday gifts for thousands of children nationwide. Amway's gift includes board games, small electronics, craft kits, and more for children of all ages. Amway's donation is being shipped to approximately eight nonprofit organizations across the country for delivery to disadvantaged children and families, in many cases providing the only gifts some children and teens may receive this holiday season.
This donation is an extension of Amway's efforts to improve the well-being of children around the world through its ONE BY ONE program. It also demonstrates Amway's support of the United States Direct Selling Association, whose member companies have donated more than $16.5 million in products and cash to the TODAY Show Toy Drive this year, and more than $85 million in cash and merchandise over the past eight years.
"For the seventh year, Amway, our employees, and Independent Business Owners are proud to be a part of the TODAY Show Toy Drive," says Jori Hartwig, Vice President of Marketing for Amway North America. "It aligns perfectly with Amway's ONE BY ONE CAMPAIGN FOR CHILDREN, helping make a difference in the lives of children all over the world. We hope the gifts donated to the TODAY Show Toy Drive do just that and brighten the holiday season for children and their families here in North America."
In addition to supporting the TODAY Show Toy Drive, Amway in North America serves as a sponsor of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Easter Seals, and the U.S. Dream Academy through the AMWAY ONE BY ONE CAMPAIGN FOR CHILDREN. Since 2003, Amway Independent Business Owners and employee volunteers have contributed more than 2.3 million hours and more than $141 million to help children worldwide.
